Nduka Otiono at 60: How Scholars and Literati Across the Globe, Gathered for Anioma-Born Icon
– Emeka Esogbue
PEN MASTER can authoritatively report that Prof Tony Nduka Otiono is 60, and that recently, scholars and members of the literary community gathered to honor the Anioma Icon, as reported by The Guardian and other media sites.
Prof Nduka Otiono struck his Diamond, and because the literati, intellectuals who have contributed to the advancement of knowledge, do not go unnoticed, they gathered to commemorate the Anioma son.
According to The Guardian Newspaper, 19 researchers and literary aficionados gathered for Prof Tony Nduka Otiono, the Director of the Institute of African Studies as well as a cross appointed professor in the Department of English and the School of Journalism and Communication, at Carleton University in Canada.
The focus of the celebration was the new book, “Critical Perspective on Nduka Otiono.”
Otiono is one academic whose works rely on rumors, gossip, idle chat, tittle-tattles, and hearsay, which are delicately woven into postcolonial concepts and stories to make reading sense.
The Ogwashi-Uku-born scholar is a literary giant who makes Anioma proud outside of the country. He has received numerous accolades in scholarship, journalism, teaching, writing, and other fields of endeavor.
Otiono is undoubtedly a man whom Anioma youths would gladly seek out as a mentor.
Prof Tony Nduka Otiono, an ardent reader and collector of books related to his profession, would swoop down in 2023 to purchase PEN MASTER’S works on Anioma history for his scholarship and teaching.
Congratulations to Prof Nduka Otiono!
