Ubulu Ezemu Publisher, Awunor Bags Peace and Non-Violent Champions Award

Prominent Ubulu Ezemu Publisher and Ubulu-Uku indigene, Mr. Anthony Awunor has been honoured with the prestigious Peace and Non-Violent Champion Award.
Ubulu Ezemu Publisher, Awunor was on Saturday honoured With the Peace and Non-Violent Champion Award.
The award which was held inside the Silverbird Gallery in the nation’s capital came from the Foundation For Peace and Non-Violence in Nigeria (FOFPEN).
Anthony Awunor was full of gratitude to the organizers for receiving the honours. The FOFPEN award was only one of the awards to have been won by the Ubulu-Uku journalist and reporter whose status continues to soar within and outside the borders of journalism.
President of Foundation For Peace and Non-Violence in Nigeria, Mr Onengiya Erekosima who presented the award said the awardee said, “Anthony Awunor, your unwavering dedication to the principles of peace and Non-Violence in Nigeria has been a source of inspiration to us all.”
“Your commitment, not only as a distinguished journalist but also as a steadfast supporter of initiatives fostering harmony, stands as a testament to your remarkable contributions. The honour bestowed upon you by the Foundation for Peace and Non-Violence is truly well-deserved,” the Foundation’s President said.
The Ubulu-Uku writer was further described as one whose tireless efforts in advocating for peace and exceptional work in journalism have distinguished them as an exemplary champion of non-violence.
“Your contributions have not only illuminated the pages of esteemed publication but also shed light on the importance of unity and understanding among people. Your legacy as a beacon of hope and an advocate for peace will undoubtedly continue to inspire generations to come, the FOFPEN President said.”
Anthony Awunor is the publisher of Ubulu Ezemu, a fast-growing online community news that discourses and extends the culture of the Ubulu, an Anioma stock in Delta State to readers.
The honour was also bestowed on Hajiya Turai Yar’Adua, wife of former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua who got a posthumous award, DG Nigerian Institute of Animal Science, Prof Eustace Iyayi, Rtd AIG, Barr Felix Onowo Ogbaudu, Rtd AIG Hassan Karma, Chief (Barr) Samuel Nwosu, ace journalist, Mohammed Bello, owner of Human Rights Radio (Berekete), Dr. Ahmad Isah, Alabo Nengi James, Chief Samuel Tuta Pukat, Claire Adelabu Abdulrazak, Austin Adiele Opara, Amb Kingsley Amafibe, Comrade Dogo Shagari Ejeke, Soni Daniel, Anayochukwu Agbo, Omoaefe Ejere, and other prominent Nigerians.
On December 22, 2023, Mr. Anthony Awunor delivered a lecture inside the Orchid Hotel, Asaba on indiscriminate sales of land by his people of Enuani, a programme organized by Anioma Watch Social Association.
