
Abbi Community Announces Date of Ikenge Festival

Abbi, an Anioma Community in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State has announced its intention to hold the Ikenge Festival of the people.
Chief Kay Enuenwosu, made this known in a Facebook post on his page on Friday.
The Onu Osa of Ndokwa said in a message made public, “17th and 18th of June 2023 marks another year of this no-ending tradition of our people as passed to us by our forefathers.”
“Ikenge Festival is one of the legacy (sic) of physical artifacts and intangible attributes of Abbi that is inherited from past generations.”
“Songs of war, pride of victories, a show of power and valour, the streets of Abbi is already getting warm anxiously waiting for the Day to come,” he further said
“It is our tradition
We call it Omeni Ani.
Every family with their Ikenge.”
The Abbi community is located close to Ezionum and the Ikenge is a major festival of the people.
